Fernando Garibay

Fernando Garibay is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer at The Garibay Institute for Soft Power and Public Diplomacy.

Mr. Garibay is recognized as an academic polymath; record producer, songwriter, entrepreneur, author, keynote speaker, and scholar. Renowned for his extensive contributions to the music industry and academia, he has solidified his reputation as an influential figure in contemporary culture and thought leadership.

As the executive producer of Lady Gaga’s critically acclaimed album Born This Way and the musical director of her Born This Way Ball, Garibay has played a pivotal role in shaping modern pop music. His production and songwriting credits encompass a multitude of prominent artists, including U2, Sia, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Shakira, Bruno Mars, Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias, The Pussycat Dolls, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Ellie Goulding, JJ Lin, Giorgio Moroder, Will.I.Am, Shaggy, Sting, Wiz Khalifa, and Lizzo. In 2014, he formed the pop duo collaboration Kylie and Garibay with Australian singer Kylie Minogue. His contributions have served as a catalyst for the development of several musical genres and contemporary movements, including Latin Pop and Electronic Dance Music.

Garibay's work includes multiple Grammy Award-winning albums, contributing to multiple Billboard global number-one pop records, and several global dance hits. Notably, he was the producer of Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, which won the "Best Pop Vocal Album" at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2010. Garibay served as an executive, artist, and producer at Interscope Records, where he founded Paradise/Interscope.

Academically, Garibay serves as a visiting lecturer at Harvard University, Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, and California Western School of Law. He co-created the first course on redefining human and synthetic creativity at the Stanford University School of Engineering. Garibay has keynoted the Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai, and LEAP in Saudi Arabia. His expertise in human creativity and artificial intelligence has earned him keynote invitations from distinguished global academic institutions, including the prestigious Royal Society in England, Oxford University, Tel Aviv University, and the Knesset (Israel's Parliament). Garibay has actively participated with the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders as a keynote speaker and a salon contributor. Mr. Garibay has also presented at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

An author of several position papers and opinion pieces for publications such as The Hill and The Messenger, Garibay frequently appears online and on television to discuss topics related to human and synthetic creativity, artificial intelligence, and disruptive technologies. Recognized as a contributor to the United Nations Intergovernmental Organization, his work continues to influence global conversations on innovation and sustainability.
